Pumpkin Patch, Pumpkin Carving and Oatmeal Cookie Day

Today was a blast! We spent the afternoon at the pumpkin patch here in town. The kids loved playing with all the animals and jumping in the bouncy and corn pit.

After we picked out our pumpkins we stopped for ice cream and ran into some of Mommy's friends from work.

Later on that evening we carved the pumpkins and Mommy made oatmeal cookies while the boys watched Cops (a Saturday night family ritual).

It was a fun filled day!!!

And the carving began...

Daddy's was pretty creative... carving our last name and all...

Daddy also thought it would be funny to take pictures of Mommy
making cookies without her knowing...

So Mommy got even by not smiling nicely :)

Rylan backed Mommy up too. Haha Daddy!!!

Parent Teacher Conferences

Yesterday was our first parent teacher conference for Braden. It went perfectly! We heard all about how Mrs. Mullins LOVES having him in her class and how he's always trying to help others in the classroom. He's got perfect grades thus far and we're seeing that all that work we've been doing at home has really helped him catch up!

He and his classmates are much farther ahead so Mrs. Mullins has been able to progress her teaching a little bit more, which is nice to know.

Rylan does look forward to getting to go to school soon, but seem more interested at the conference in expressing his desire to go home to "get my monster truck"....

To celebrate, Braden got to choose where we went for dinner which obviously resulted in us going to McDonalds for Happy Meals and time on the playground.

Family Pics 2009

We got our family pictures done this weekend! Check them out. Rylan was a little more "workable" this year... Spent most of the time sticking out his tongue and crying.

Travis and I even got some time to play around!

I love this cheesy smile!!!

Funny List of Things Rylan Says

Rylan's got some new vocabulary... funniest thing we've ever heard.

"Yes man" - Supposed to be "Yes Ma'am"

"Why not" - He says this when it doesn't even make sense....Example: "Rylan, it's time for bed." He replies "Why not?" I say "Rylan, that doesn't make sense..."

"Exuse me" He does this before grabbing your face and making you look at him straight in the eye.

Also, after he counts from 1 - 10 he doesn't know much higher yet so he starts listing off random names. Once he listed everyone that attends his daycare - super cute.

He calls fig neutons "neuts".

He is afraid of snakes and fire at night coming in his room.

He loves to point out everything that he knows the names of... clock, table, light...

He and Braden LOVE to watch the garbage man come by in the morning. They usually stand by the window in their underwear/diapers.

He's definately growing up very fast!

Family Game Night

We had family game night at school last week - very cute. The boys had a blast playing Bingo and the Wii with Dad, while Mom worked the popcorn station with the PTO.
This week Mom started working in Braden's class to help Mrs. Mullins with their centers. SO FUN and SO CUTE! It's really sweet to see all Braden's friends in class and how great his teacher is - she is awesome!
Of course, Rylan had to get his picture taken too!

Laver Day - Braden's Translation

Labor Day weekend was a blast. We spent it camping as a family up at Woods Canyon Lake. Travis got everything set up for us so nicely. We made smores all weekend. Rylan was ready to go home the first day. He was a little homesick for his room and his "newts" (aka fig neuton's - he loves them, it's his favorite snack).

While it POURED on Saturday and turned our camp to mud, we decided to take a much needed family nap. Mommy and Daddy LOVED this part of the trip as nap time for the parents in our house is a very rare occasion.

Eating ice cream by the lake is a must...

Babe, no one wants to see that... gross!!!

My cuddlebug...

Braden picked me a flower that I pressed in my book for forever - sweetheart!

Rylan must include Charlie in the popcorn by the fire experience

~Adding to my list of duties~

Not only am I a wife, mother, property manager, house-keeper, chef, personal assistant, driver, mediator, hair dresser, stylist, but I am also... a PTO mom!!! So exciting!
Today was my first meeting and I am already in charge of website updates and helping for the Family Game Night next Thursday! We need to raise money for the school and so many projects coming... WOW! I got to spend time with my awesome neighbor moms - who are all on the PTO as well - and the principle and Braden's teacher. I think I am going to like this.
GO HAWKS!
